FRANKFURT AM MAIN (dpa-AFX) – From Tuesday, homeowners can apply for a subsidy for the installation of an electric car charging station from the state development bank KfW. For purchase, installation and connection, they can receive 900 euros in funding per charging point, as KfW announced on Friday in Frankfurt am Main. However, “100 percent of the electricity used for charging must come from renewable energies”. This can be done via your own photovoltaic system or via a corresponding electricity supply contract.
“The aim of the funding is to motivate private individuals to switch to electrically powered vehicles and to create an adequate charging infrastructure for this in the private sector,” explained KfW. Individuals, homeowners associations, housing associations, housing associations and property developers are eligible to apply. The funding application must be submitted before the purchase contract is concluded.
The federal government has earmarked 200 million euros for the promotion of private charging stations. The demand for e-cars has risen sharply due to government purchase premiums of up to 9,000 euros. Experts see a need to catch up with Ladenetz./rol/DP/jha
