VIENNA (dpa-AFX) – The Vienna Stock Exchange closed earlier on Thursday. The ATX leading index gained 0.57 percent to 3522.16 points. The broader ATX Prime increased by 0.60 percent to 1784.77 points. The share prices also went up on the European leading stock exchanges. The main focus was on the large number of company figures presented. AMAG and the association presented results on the Austrian market.

After a good first half of the year, the Verbund electricity group raised its expectations for the operating result and net profit. Erste Group analysts wrote of solid results in the past quarter. With the increase in the profit outlook, Verbund is now in line with market estimates. The Verbund share fell by 3.8 percent.

AMAG stocks increased by 0.8 percent after the final figures for the first half of the year were presented. According to analysts from Erste Group, the results for the second quarter confirmed the preliminary key figures already published. The experts also wrote messages that were to be assessed neutrally.

The heavily weighted bank stocks showed consistently positive signs. At Erste Group (Erste Group Bank) there was an increase of 2.2 percent. BAWAG gained 0.2 percent and Raiffeisen Bank International (Raiffeisen) saw an increase of 0.9 percent. Erste and Raiffeisen will present quarterly results on Friday. For the publication of Erste Group, analysts see on average, as in the first quarter, another clear increase in net profit.

The OMV shares gained 0.7 percent to EUR 47.30. Here the experts at Deutsche Bank have set their price target for the share of the oil, gas and chemical company from EUR 48.90 to EUR 50.30. The “Buy” recommendation was left unchanged.

Palfinger and Andritz will also present business figures at the end of the week. In the run-up, Palfinger won two percent and Andritz showed a plus of 0.7 percent. According to analyst forecasts, crane manufacturer Palfinger is likely to have increased significantly in both sales and earnings figures in the second quarter of 2021. The net result should be positive again after the loss in the same quarter of the previous year.

The plant manufacturer Andritz is likely to have posted a clear profit increase in the second quarter of the current financial year. That comes from the estimates of the experts from Erste Group, Baader Bank and Raiffeisen Research.

The AT&S titles were also wanted with a plus of 4.5 percent. FACC even went up by 6.6 percent. ZUMTOBEL climbed 7.2 percent. Frequentis gained 4.1 percent. Lenzing came back from the significant growth of the previous day by two percent./ste/sto/APA/he
