Paltrow thinks cannabis should be legalized
Cann is not the first company in the industry in which the Oscar winner and founder of the wellness brand Goop is investing, reports CNBC. However, it is the first time that she has announced her investment in public.
In a telephone interview with the US news broadcaster, Paltrow said, “We are clearly getting closer and closer to the point where cannabis is legalized, and I think it should be. Personally, I am not a big user [von Cannabis]. But I think it has wonderful medical qualities and is really helpful to a lot of people. ”
Regarding the Cann brand, she says: “There is a whole movement interested in alcohol-free solutions and a movement interested in cannabis – [Cann] is the interface, so to speak. ”
Cann: Microdoses of THC and CBD in a lemonade
Cann promises a slight “buzz” on its website, i.e. a slight kick – which shouldn’t lead to a hangover the next morning. That is why the lemonade that the company sells only contains a microdose of cannabis: each can with around 200 milliliters contains two milligrams of THC and four milligrams of the rather calming substance CBD.
According to Luke Anderson and Jake Bullock, the two founders of the company, this ensures that consumers can take several doses in succession without getting completely “high” – this is reported by CNBC.
According to the manufacturer, the cannabis drink consists exclusively of natural ingredients. It is also available in five different flavors: lemon-lavender, blood orange-cardamom, grapefruit-rosemary, ginger-lemongrass and pineapple jalapeno. The cost of a six-pack is $ 24, but so far they are only available in California and Nevada.
USA: The number of cannabis drinks sold has doubled
Not only Paltrow discovered Cann for himself: According to media reports, other stars such as singer Tove Lo, Ruby Rode, ex-NBA player Baron Davis, Bre-Z, Rebel Wilson and Darren Criss also started the company in a fundraising round at the beginning of the Year supported. None of the investments should have been in the millions, but all large enough that the celebrities can now consider themselves part of the company. Paltrow has apparently made the largest investment of all the supporters.
In addition, the actress has an unbelievably wide reach with her social media channels with which she could effortlessly address new audiences and thus possibly significantly boost the already considerable increase in sales of cannabis-containing beverages in the USA (CNBC reports data from the analysis company Headset, which suggests the total revenue from cannabis-based beverages sales doubled from September 2019 to September 2020).

Quoting Paltrow’s influence on the CNBC, Anderson is quoted as saying, “When people think of Gwyneth Paltrow, they don’t think of weed – they think of cutting-edge solutions to health needs.”
