BERLIN (dpa-AFX) – The new TV channel BILD for the tabloid brand of the same name from the Axel Springer media group goes on air for the first time on August 22nd. The media company announced this start date on Monday in Berlin. The TV channel will be free and unencrypted via cable, satellite, IPTV and OTT. At the start, the goal is a technical reach of around 85 percent of German TV households.
The media regulators had recently granted approval for the TV broadcaster. Springer had announced that it would start before the general election. There should be a full program. According to the information, the core element will be the news show “BILD LIVE” from 9 am to 2 pm during the week. BILD is the third television broadcaster in the Springer Group.
