14,000 remains unreachable
The DAX started the week with premiums. However, there was too much distance to cover up to the round 14,000 mark. Even if the statistics spoke for the stock market, as Daniel Saurenz said this morning:
It stayed on top of a failed attempt. The Ifo business climate index was published as early as 10:00 a.m. It fell in January from 92.2 points in December to 90.1 points.
The mood in the German economy is sinking again, especially among the approximately 9,000 managers surveyed in the survey. They judged the outlook for their businesses to be far more unfavorable than just a few weeks ago. No wonder in the current lockdown phase, which could well last longer.
Ifo President Clemens Fuest said:
“The second corona wave temporarily ended the recovery of the German economy.”

Even if the retail sector has not “collapsed”, the cuts are still noticeable. Consumption stocks and the DAX as a whole were correspondingly weaker today.
It fell back to 13,605 points in the early afternoon, marking a multi-week low. He barely recovered from this, not least because of an equally weak Wall Street.

The 14,000 is no longer the defining topic on the market. Rather, it depends on whether the other quarterly figures in the USA, such as those from Apple and Microsoft, will give a hold and bring back the imagination for investors. Apple hit the 140 mark for the first time today.
