Lightning deliveries: Swiss startup stash: groceries should be delivered in less than ten minutes | message
Until now, deliveries have always been between five and eight minutes
So far, only the two Zurich districts 4 and 5 have been served by the delivery service. According to “Handelszeitung.ch”, Stash relies on a small warehouse near Zurich’s main train station with only around 500 products and a relatively small range. This mainly consists of food and beverages, but also drugstore items. In addition, Stash advertises on its own website with car-free delivery by bike, “because it is faster and better for the environment and the quality of life in our beautiful city,” says Stash. The products should be available at the same prices as in the supermarket. No minimum order quantity and no delivery window are required. And: the delivery should always take place in less than ten minutes.
According to CEO Simon Koch, the startup has managed to do this well so far: “So far, we have always managed to deliver in five to eight minutes. The fastest delivery was in 212 seconds to the customer. So far we have it once failed and only delivered in eleven minutes because we had a technical problem with the navigation “. A delivery fee of 3.90 francs is charged per order, according to the report.
Expansion into other areas firmly in view
Stash recently has an expansion of the delivery area in the back of his head, provided that the pilot project is successful, as Simon Koch reveals to “Handelszeitung.ch”. Because if it is successful, “Stash will expand into other districts of Zurich,” says Simon Koch. Other medium-sized Swiss cities are also interesting for the company, according to the head of the delivery service. The key factor here, however, is the performance and success of the pilot project in both Zurich city districts.
In this country, too, start-ups with similar business models have already appeared in large cities. Gorillas Technologies GmbH, founded in Berlin in 2020, would also like to guarantee its customers the delivery of food in less than ten minutes. According to a report by the “Saarbruecker Zeitung”, the delivery service is currently available in Berlin, Hamburg, Cologne and Munich. Or the Flink food delivery service, which was also founded in Berlin in 2020 and which, according to the report, is currently available in Hamburg, Munich and Nuremberg.
