BERLIN (dpa-AFX) – Hamburg’s CDU regional chief Christoph Ploß is against a coalition of the Union with the Greens after the federal election. “CDU and Greens – they don’t go together,” he told the “Bild” newspaper (Monday). “The Greens want to restrict the freedom of more and more citizens”. He is not ready to accept that. As an example, the member of the Bundestag cited the five policy fields of interior politics, migration, economy, environment and defense, where there are great contrasts.
For example, “numerous Greens would court the anti-fascists and downplay left-wing extremism”. And: “Prohibitions, nuisance and state tutelage” characterized the green economic and climate protection policy. As an example, he cited driving bans in Germany’s major cities or the demand by Green politicians to restrict air travel by Germans. In addition, “more and more Green politicians wanted to prevent the construction of single-family houses in certain areas”.
The CDU should therefore “do everything in its power to achieve a bourgeois majority without green participation in the federal elections,” said Ploß. / Sck / DP / zb
