The round mark of 14,000 points was almost reached today. The DAX had a strong midweek, more on this in the LS-X market report from February 24th, 2021.
Return of the DAX to old levels
In the morning, the DAX was in the market at 13,800 points and was waiting for the GDP numbers. These were a tad better than expected and gave the market the necessary start-up impetus for the day. In the final quarter of 2020, the domestic economy grew by 0.3 percent despite lockdowns.
Our dealer found arguments in favor of attractive sectors in this interview:
In fact, one TUI, for example, gained 10 percent today.
This means that the 13,900 mark could already be reached right at the market launch and thus the downward trend line of the last few days. The breakthrough came promptly, and so the index continued its recovery, targeting 14,000.
In the first two attempts, a contact did not work. The day’s high was only 13,998 points. But shortly after the end of XETRA, the time had come. The driver was positive Wall Street with a Dow Jones at a record level.
However, it does not count for this statistic. Thus, volatility halved compared to the previous day and found a normal level of 140 points.
The following key points were recorded in the DAX:
|Previous day course||13,864.81|
On the basis of this trading range in the middle of the week, one can now look ahead more optimistically. The course of the day was outlined as follows:
Which stocks were the focus of DAX trading today?

HeidelbergCement shares were among the DAX winners today. The prospect of further stimulus packages in the USA, Australia or India, according to yesterday’s annual figures, will bring the company further in favor of investors. There are only a few points left to the annual high, as shown in this video from the afternoon:
Only the engine manufacturer MTU Aero Engines rose even faster after JPMorgan analyst David Perry reversed his negative stance. This helped the entire aviation sector, an Airbus also rose by around 4 percent.
The losing side was composed similarly to the previous days. Corona winners from the last few weeks have been sold. This included a Delivery Hero and Deutsche Wohnen in the DAX and a pharmacy or Zalando shop in the second row.

The Dax went up again today. The trend line sketched over the last few days has to be readjusted, but the direction is still positive:
The fact that we saw the 14,000 afterwards and the Dow Jones is trading at a record high could also ensure further price gains.
We’ll talk to a dealer about this again tomorrow at around 8:30 a.m., this time with Ingmar Knigshofen. You will then see it before 9.00 a.m. as usual on the youtube channel of the LS-Exchange.
A note on our own behalf: At the end of the week there will be an online seminar with Frank Helmes. This has been postponed – Registrations are therefore still possible free of charge:
